Home Renovations for Animals

The National Association of Realtors surveyed over 50,000 homeowners about their pets and animals, and although the results aren't shocking, they are worth paying attention to.

A few quick highlights:

60% of households own a pet (or plan to get one.)

99% of people who own pets consider them to be part of the family.

More than half of those who owned pets have done at least one remodeling project specifically for, or because of, their pet. This number increases significantly at higher income levels.

67% of pet owners are likely to refuse making an offer on a house that isn't ideal for their animal.

Bottom Line

If you're one of the 40% who does not own a pet, or the 1% who owns a pet but doesn't consider them to be part of the family, you might want to reconsider the importance of pets to your clients' lives, and service your clients accordingly..
